Fully laden Supramax vessels can call Dagon Granaries terminal at Haifa for grain discharge

The only berth capable of accepting grain at the port of Haifa remains managed and operated by the company “Dagon” Israel Granaries Company Ltd. The parameters of the berth (length 225 m, width 32 m, and depth 13 m) allow handling vessels of up to Supramax size. Three ship unloaders with a capacity of about 1,800 t per hour, a mechanical unloader with a capacity of about 1,200 t per hour and recently purchased new pneumatic unloaders with a capacity of 600 t per hour are used for unloading grain. Grain wagons are loaded with a maximum capacity of 4,200 t per day. Grain is carried from the port by trucks with a maximum speed of 15,000 t per day. The total capacity of the elevator reaches 85,000 t. Dagon Granaries’ annual capacity is 3.5 million tonnes.
