Buss Port Logistics keeps operating dry bulk terminal in Stade

Buss Port Logistics GmbH & Co. Services is part of the owner-managed Buss Group, which was founded in the port of Hamburg more than 100 years ago. As of July 2022, the company keeps operating the facilities in the Stade seaport which is one of four terminals possessed by the company.

The Buss Terminal in Stade handles project, general and bulk cargoes, as well as RoRo and container cargoes. The main range of handled bulk commodities includes sand, clay, grave, fertilizers and wood chips.

According to local agents, the Buss Terminal's facilities in Stade comprise one berth with a total length of 210 m. The maximal permissible parameters for vessels calling the berth are the following: LOA 200 m; beam 32 m; draft 9.5 m. Note that the under keel clearance has to be 1 m. Thus, the terminal can accommodate almost fully loaded Handysize ships.

As for handling equipment, the terminal possesses various modern equipment such as a port handling excavator Liebherr (crane arm reaches 28 m and a lifting capacity is up to 25 t/sq.m), crane machine with a total capacity up to 500 t, wheel loaders, forklifts and RoRo ramp. The maximal loading rate for bulk cargo is 300 t per hour.

With regard to storage capacity, the terminal has a special storage area of about 10,000 sq. m for AVV materials, such as wood fines/chips.
