ISM sources report a mixed bag of opinions regarding vessels waiting time at Richards Bay port

Port operations are running quite smoothly at the RBCT terminal. Most port agents agree that average anchorage time for vessels waiting for coal loading at the RBCT terminal is currently 12 to 24 hours. One of the respondents, however, reckons that such time is hovering within 24 to 48 hours.
Meanwhile, ISM sources show wide range of opinions regarding waiting time for berthing at the DBT terminal – 7 to 14 days, 3 to 4 weeks and 8 to 23 days, respectively.
As for the MPT terminal, one of the local port agents claims that waiting time at the MPT port reaches 7 to 14 days, while some others indicate such time is more likely to be 3 to 4 weeks.
