Downtrend persists on Eastern Hemi Capesize market

The Capesize segment keeps softening in Eastern Hemi due to still limited traffic of Australian iron ore:
Transportation of 170,000 t of ore from W.Aus to Qingdao is estimated by ISM at $10-11/t;
The deal for shipment of 170,000 t of ore from Dampier to Qingdao with 2H July laycans has been signed at $10.5/t. A similar contract has been concluded at $10.7/t.

In Indonesia, the deal for shipment of 150,000 t of coal from Muara Pantai to Mundra with July 17-22 laycans has been signed at $8.5-9/t.

As for coal traffic from Australia, carrying a Capesize lot of coal from Newcastle to CJK is quoted by ISM at $18-19/t.

As for ore exports from S.Afr, transportation of a Capesize lot of ore from Saldanha Bay to Qingdao is estimated by ISM at $21-22/t.
