The Supramax/Ultramax market picture has got more positive this week. Thus, in addition to brisk coal traffic ex SAfr towards the Far East and Atlantic Ocean, players report increased cargo offer ex Persian Gulf ports. As a result, owners have managed to raise rates despite a long list of vessels open off WCI. Meanwhile, the cargo traffic for ECI ports stays rather limited, with only some sporadic requests for rice transportation entering the market. Thus, corresponding TCT deals are negotiated $1-2k daily above last week’s levels.
