Forward deals for Panamax/Kamsarmax shipments from ECSA inked at higher rates

The Panamax/Kamsarmax market appears livelier this week in South Atlantic, with more cargoes available, especially for forward laycans. A firm Pacific segment continues to restrict potential ballaster flow and lend support to spot and forward dates:

• TCT rates bss ECSA RV are hovering at $16.5-17.5k daily for spot laycans;
• The deal for an 80k dwt vessel bss dely ECI via ECSA redel Spore-Japan has been signed at $17k daily with spot laycans;
• The contract for an 83k dwt carrier bss dely Spore via ECSA redel Spore-Japan has been concluded at $18.5k daily with spot laycans;
• An 81k dwt ship has been chartered at $17.75k daily + $775k bb bss dely ECSA redel China;
• Voy-bss rates for transportation of 66,000 t of grain from Santos to Qingdao with spot laycans are voiced by brokers at $38-40/t, which gives the TCE of $15-16k daily;
• The deal for shipment of 66,000 t of grains from Barcarena to China with late April laycans has been agreed at $45/t, which gives the TCE of $19k daily.

Transatlantic rates are holding steady:

• TCT offers bss APS ECSA are voiced at mid-high $20s k daily vs. bids of low-mid $20s k daily for spot laycans;
• An 80k dwt vessel has been chartered at $26k daily bss dely ECSA redel Med;
• Rates for shipment of 66,000 t of grains from Santos to Egypt with spot laycans are negotiated at low $30s/t, which gives the TCE of $22-23k daily for a Kamsarmax carrier bss dely APS ECSA.
